The Chungbuk Drone.UAM Research Center was established with the support of Chungcheongbuk-do (Chungbuk Free Economic Zone Authority) and the Chungbuk Institute of Science and Technology Innovation to develop UAM and drone-related technologies, train human resources, and build and attract corporate networks. This center is developing the design and reduction aircraft of Chungbuk-type UAM aircraft, designing and modeling UAM vertical ports, developing impulse avoidance technology, and developing AI-based automatic take-off and landing and distributed electric propulsion technology. This center is organized by Cheongju University, participated by Korea Transportation University, and is cooperating with a number of companies and institutions.

The size of the Chungbuk-type UAM 20% reduction aircraft is 1.51m in length, 2.1m in width, takeoff weight of 17kg, additional payload of 4kg, maximum flight speed of 140km/h, maximum operating distance of 71km, and maximum flight time of 60 minutes.
